Matt’s Blog — Weekend Preview November 24

Posted November 23, 2017 | Racing News

Two days of racing this weekend with a 9 race card on Friday night, and 10 more on Saturday.

There looks to be some short prices to kick off the Friday card with OUTLAW LUCKYCHARM and BEER BRIBE in the first two, and the pair of BURN MY VILLA and JK ELLEM ENOH in the 3rd.

The 7th is an interesting mix with $10k-$12.5k claimers and non-winners of seven races. BLUE EYED COWBOY cuts his price in half and finds his way to the fence for owner/trainer/driver Keith Clark. It could be the wakeup call that he needs. AMERICAN DREAMER was topped at 2/5 last time out, and should see plenty of tote action again in his second start following the Western Canada Pacing Derby. STARFACE wins and doubles his price after the $5500 claimer didn’t fill. FIXED PRICE didn’t draw well, but has won three of his last four and has plenty of tactical ability. Fun race that can go many ways.

On Saturday, we have divisions of the Snowflake and Snowshoe Series. YANKEE UP will be a very short price in one half of the Snowshoe as he gets to face a group of maidens. He just missed two back to a very good horse in TOLLY HO, and can’t be blamed for his beat to THREE MORE SMILES last time out as he has now romped twice at Northlands.

RUTHS CROWN ROYAL won a consolation of the Superfinals and should be well spotted again in the 3rd. MYSTERY COZ and SHAKER TANK will be the two to turn away in the 4th.

The feature event of the evening is the 9th which is a $16k – $20k claimer with non winners of 8 or non winners of $2,501 in their last five. OUTLAW KISMET drew ideally on the fence following his victory last time out for $20k. He has speed to burn, and likes to use it under the wire the first time. EH SENOR goes for the same barn, and likes to be forwardly placed as well. Would have to imagine this is the one out front and having to deal with ROYAL RENEGADE who drew way outside. OUTLAW KISMET may work out an ideal trip. GRAY ZEE will be charging late, and with the speed on the inside, he could get a good spot from the second tier. Look for him to spice up the exotics at a decent price.

On Saturday join us in the casino for the ‘Hockey Night in Vegas’ Slot Tournament
